Why is nobody pointing out the terrible anatomy of that horse? Huge neck, tiny ears, small body. The rest of this picture is amazing, it's a shame the second most important aspect was drawn with such haste.
Everything is done with increasing haste as the focus moves away from the face and torso - compare the detail and anatomy of her hand to that of her face and the front of her crown/circlet, for example. The horse is yet another step removed, the background yet another step removed, the background light removed to the point of literally just streaks and splashes of color. This is an incredibly common style of digital portrait painting, since the part most people care about in portraits is the face; that's probably why no one is remarking on it.
I love this, I love the title. Makes it feel as if she'll be going to war or a meeting, or something else. It feels sad a bit but it's just beautiful!!! Oh yeah and I agree what the second comment below me said, its nice to see a female heroine who is not overly exposed.
